Music, Movies, And All Around Weird

Movies: Phantom of the Opera starring Gerard Butler.
Really intense and romantic, but has the tension that both girls and guys find enthralling. Incredible music, both original scores and songs. My absolute favorite would have to be "Music of the Night." And for those of you who do not know, the Phantom of the Opera takes place in Paris in the mid 1800's. An amazingly talented girl named Christine Daae performs at the opera practically every night with her stunning voice. That talented voice is thanks to the lessons of the Opera Ghost, who haunts the opera house. When an old friend comes to profess his undying love for her, Christine finds herself caught between the two things most important to her. Her one true love, and her once-in-a-lifetime vocal teacher. Will she choose to become captured by the monster or be with the man she loves?

Books: Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber.
Raven Madison is not your average girl. She likes Chucky, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, is scared of Dora The Explorer, and wants to become a vampire. Raven Madison is Goth. So when Raven finds out that the old haunted, abandoned mansion up the hill...

...has been rented out, what else can she do but go see who live there, and welcome them to the neighborhood? She there meets Alexander Sterling. Her Goth in black, ripped skinny jeans. He's pale, sleeps in the attic, is a proper gentleman, and has a thing for only coming out at night. When these two get together, cemetery picnics and a quick bite to eat aren't uncommon.
Read it. And if you're a hopeless romantic like me, you'll fall in love with Alexander Sterling.

Okay, so that's all I've got off the top of my head. Enjoy!

Music, Movies, And All Around Weird

Alright. Here we go.

Music: Rebecca Black's new single "Friday".
It is one of the weirdest/worst songs that I've ever heard in my life. In my opinion, she can't sing. With the way that her voice sounds, every professional or at least trained singer can tell that it's all vocal editing/music mixing. Plus, to make matters worse, it gets stuck in my head ALL THE TIME. Did she really think that we don't know Saturday comes after Friday? And not all of us party on the weekends. Most normal people just catch up on unfinished homework, or sit around doing nothing or watch TV because they don't have to go anywhere they don't want to be (cough school cough), or see people they don't really like (that girl who ruined your social life in freshman year). A quote from a friend; "Rebecca Black, I don't hate you because you're famous. You're famous because I hate you." (note: when my friend said this, they only meant her song!) But seriously, how many people do you know that will say, "OMG, I love that song!"? That's all I'm sayin'.

Movies: I Am Number Four starring Alex Pettyfer (from Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker, Beastly), Diana Agron (Glee).
I got to see it on opening day, and let me tell you, the theatre was full to the brim. For those of you who have no clue what it's about, look here:

His planet was destroyed. But nine of them survived and came to earth to live and be protected. The aliens who destroyed their planet want to destroy them all, so they come to earth in search of the nine that were saved. Number One was killed in Malaysia. Number Two was murdered in England. Number Three was caught in South Africa. They can only be killed in sequence. He (Number Four, portrayed by Alex Pettyfer) is who they want next, so he moves around the country hiding from them.

If that's not a good enough evaluation, then go to YouTube and look at the trailer. But anyways, it's got the romance for the girls, the action for the guys, and the comedy moments if you don't like all the other stuff.

Books: Enchanted Inc. By Shanna Swendson.
It. Is. AMAZING.
Extremely ordinary small town girl Katie Chandler moves from Texas to New York City in search of a new life for herself. As soon as she steps foot outside, she sees people wearing wings and hovering over the ground and passes a church that only occasionally has a gargoyle. When a new job opportunity comes her way at just the right moment, what else can she do but say yes? One catch: the company is MSI Inc. (Magic, Spells, and Illusions Inc.). With Katie's newly discovered immunity to all magic (performing magic, being affected by magic, and she can see through any illusion cast anywhere on anyone) will she be able to help save the company from the dark forces that threaten it and land hottie/R&D manager/all-powerful wizard, Owen Palmer? Read it and find out!

Okay, so that's it for now. Tell me what you think! =)

My blog

Okay. If you look at the post below this, you'll see that I'm a bit new at this, so I'm just gonna wing-it! =)

Let me introduce myself: I'm Alexis.
You're probably reading my blog for the first time, which is really cool, so welcome. I want to explain what this blog is gonna be about. If you read my "About Me" section of my profile (which you most likely DIDN'T do), you'll see that I love music, movies, and books. I have a lot of opinions about musicians, actors, actresses, etc. and I want to share them outside of the dining room table, you know? You don't have to like my point of veiw. All that I ask is that you read it and maybe respond.

Along with voicing my own opinion, I would like to hear what YOU think as well. So send a comment , will ya? Agree or disagree with me, but either way, let me know. Another thing. If (and it's a big "if" for me) you would like to hear something or someone in particular, send me a comment or an email, and I'll try to get on it ASAP! =)

Got all that? Good.
